It didn’t take long for the original number of applicants for the European Pokerstars tour main event to go from 420 to 25 by today, the end of day three. The players are eyeing the 400,000 euro prize which is about $510,680.00 to us. A lot of big names have already bitten the dust. Here’s a quick look at who is gone and who is still in with a chance.

Players Out:

Katja Thater has only a few money wins listed for this year and she won’t be adding this event to her list of winnings. Thater left before level 17 of the tournament. She may have won a bracelet at WSOP but its back to the horse breeding for now.

Michael Keiner has 1 bracelet and 8 money finishes to boast but this time the German pro left empty handed.

Players Still In:

According to the folks over at carplayer.com, this is the chip count for the end of day three:

  1. Perica Bukara — 1,326,000
  2. Konstantin Bilyaver —1,240,000
  3. Arnaud Mattern — 1,155,000
  4. Jonathan Weekes —872,000
  5. Ivan Demidov —729,000
  6. Johan Storakers — 656,000
  7. Carlo Bordogna —554,000
  8. Dmitry Vitkind —541,000
  9. Kevin Stani —530,000
  10. Toni Ojala —489,000

It’s hard to assess players we’re not as familiar watching but I’m putting my money on British professional Jonathan Weekes. Weekes has experienced some pretty manic luck in this tournament, hitting the top of the board in chips and then losing big. I’m hoping the  recent second place win in Copenhagen is something he wants to work on.

Stay close for updates.
